I don’t always admit it readily, but I’m a Vegas junkie. From the amazing food to the all-night casino action and everything in between, it’s one of my fave weekend getaways. I’ve visited a lot of the local casinos here in and around San Diego, but they’ve never quite felt like Vegas to me. Something was always lacking, whether the vibe, the food, the bar scene, something. Hollywood Casino in Jamul is a game-changer, Vegas has finally arrived in San Diego!
After visiting Hollywood Casino just once and dining at the amazing Loft 94, we were hooked. The lively restaurant and bar offered amazing views, delicious $5 tapas (hello cheap dinner!) and the gambling experience afterwards was fun too! When we recently were invited back to try their Final Cut Steakhouse, it was an offer we couldn’t refuse. Just an 18 minute drive from our former Eastlake home (which we just sold), it’s a much more convenient option than downtown San Diego.
Dinner at Final Cut Steakhouse was simply amazing. From the stunning views and top-notch service to the fabulous craft cocktails and delectable food, everything was perfection. We started with the Chilled Seafood Platter and loved every bit of it. I couldn’t decide between filet and lobster, so I went with surf & turf and had no regrets. The peach cobbler special for dessert was to die for, a definite must try when they have it available!
After dinner, you can spend some time in the Vegas style casino, packed with all of your favorite table games and slots. There’s even a non-smoking section filled with slot machines, though I’d love to see some video poker options added in that area! Have you ventured over to Hollywood Casino yet?
