5 Ways to Feel Great in 2015!

1. Detox and Reboot

For many ofSuja Juice us, the holiday season means overindulging again and again. Not only do we tend to pack on a few pounds, but our bodies grow accustomed to eating the sugary, calorie-laden food that we give in to during the holidays. Come January, it can be tough to cut these unhealthy foods out of your diet. I have found over the past couple of years that a brief Suja Juice cleanse helps nip my cravings in the bud in just a few days. I’ve done the 3-day Suja Fresh Start almost quarterly for the past 2 years and it completely wipes out my sugar and fatty food cravings (and even the strong urge for caffeine and alcohol too!) I tend to lose 5 or 6 pounds over the course of the 3 days, which may mostly be water weight, but I sure do feel great afterwards! A brief juice cleanse is a great way to detox and break bad habits and just reboot your system. You can purchase the Suja Juice 3-day Fresh Start at SujaJuice.com.

2. Get Fruits & Veggies Delivered

My local grocery store also lacks in the quality and variety of their produce, so I’m often less than impressed with what I end up with. I’ve become a huge CSA (community supported agriculture) proponent and my latest and greatest find is Farm Fresh To You (available to most of California). They’ll deliver fresh organic produce to your door on a schedule that you customize, and you even get to pick your own items from a vast selection of freshly harvested produce! Prices are competitive and the produce is amazing, so fresh and flavorful. I’ll never be able to buy produce at the grocery store again! As a bonus, save $10 on your first order from Farm Fresh To You with coupon code JENN1663, then get your own code and earn a $25 credit whenever you refer a friend!

3. Embrace Alternative Medicine

In recent years, I have found alternative medicine to be a life saver in many ways. Namely, I’m finding better relief than I ever have before by using methods like acupuncture, chiropractic care and yoga. When I’m too busy with my 2 kids for any of those, I find nearly comparable relief using at home tools like a chi machine, electronic pulse unit (TENS) or a foam roller. I even blogged about my success with the chi machine! It’s so nice to be able to rid myself of all of the prescription pain pills that doctors kept trying to give me, and I feel great, better than I have in a long time. I also avoided having surgery which for me is a huge win!

4. Take Care of Your Skin

SoniclearLooking at your skin is the easiest way for someone to guess your age. If your face is suffering from sun damage, wrinkles or age spots, people are likely to peg you as quite a bit older than you actually are. On the flip side, if you’re a 50-year old with fresh, dewy skin, free of sun damage and with minimal fine lines, you could probably pass for 30! I think many women in their 20s (and often even older than that) don’t pay as much attention to their facial skincare needs as they should. Forgetting sunscreen, not washing your face at night, not moisturizing daily, these are huge mistakes we can’t afford to make. Try incorporating fun (and affordable) skincare products and tools into your regimen such as the Soniclear Brush by Michael Todd. Soniclear combines the benefits of an antimicrobial sonic brush with an affordable price point. It makes washing your face a bit more fun too!

5. Take the Stress out of Shopping

Stitch FixIf you’re a busy mom like me, you know how impossible it is to take a leisurely shopping trip like we did in the pre-kids days. Hitting the dressing room with a screaming toddler is hardly worth it for a new pair of jeans. Investing in a personal shopper sounds like a lovely idea, but for many of us it’s not something our budget allows. That’s why Stitch Fix has been a dream come true for me. Each month, for just $20, a stylist will curate a box of 5 clothing and accessory items tailored to your preference, style and sizes, and it will be shipped right to your home. If you decide to keep even one of them items, your $20 fee is refunded in the form of a credit towards your purchase. Keep the whole box and you get a sizable discount! Then, just ship back what you don’t want in the prepaid USPS bag. I’ve recently bought several pairs of jeans from Stitch Fix that fit me absolutely perfect! No shopping, no dressing rooms, and a ton of time and stress saved. I’ve posted a run down on nearly all of my Stitch Fix deliveries so you can get an idea of the types of items they send! There’s also a similar new service called Wantable that I’m looking forward to trying soon!
